Currently, aortic dissection risk is assessed by measuring the diameter of the enlarged aorta (aneurysm) and surgery is only performed on patients who have a aortic diameter of ≥ 5.5 cm. However, many aneurysms below this threshold diameter lead to dissections, while some aneurysms above the threshold remain stable. My project focuses on finding a better method for predicting dissection risk using MRI data.
